File extension using plug-ins

Hi,
(reading the info in the small horizontal part of the window, hovering over the thumbnail/live view) when I use the Lightroom plug-in, the file-extension is *.jpg or *.tiff.
But from Photoshop; *.qex ??
I've never heard of that extension. And don't understand the purpose either.
I don't understand anything else. In the info, immediately after the file name, there is a large number (8 digits or more). What is that all about?
I do understand the further information in the 'info panel'.
With regards, Martin

QEX is a Qimage Export file: it is a Qimage image type used to transfer the image from Photoshop. Photoshop doesn't use a standard file format for exporting images like Lightroom (which uses TIFF).

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the explanation, regarding the file-extension part of my question.
Can you also answer the second part of my question?
Regarding I don't understand anything else. In the info, immediately after the file name, there is a large number (8 digits or more). What's that all about?
In the screenshot originally attached, the number was; 42,053,032.
Regards, Martin

Oh, now I see what you mean. That is the file size (in bytes).
Regards,
Mike
