I want to define a 3x4 space (16”x20” on a 17x22 paper).  I need to fill it with a 2x3 image, which has no room to crop to 3x4 dimension.

If I load image, uncropped, is there an easy way to fill the remaining space with black (or any other color)?

I would suggest using the MAT feature. It will allow any color, and also allow you to size each side of the print individually.

Depending on your artistic endeavor, you can also color the entire page using page color
