I'm aware of the aligning option of floating text (left, right, center) which works fine. On the screenshot the text is centered horizontal, but to align the text vertical in the weighted border (cutout frame) I can only drag the text up and down without any reference to the ruler at the left side of the editor. Would it be possible to add something like a guide line in Photoshop. When I click on the text icon to drag the text there should be a horizontal/vertical guide line for precise alignment of the floating text.
Maybe there is another workaround, or would it be possible to do the alignment of the text in the bigger window of the image editor?

I also would like to have the ability to be more precise in placing floating text in the correct position. Right now it's just a best guess, which usually cost me paper and ink.

What kind of alignment are we talking about here? There may be some existing features that do the job that you are not aware of. For example, if you link the text to a print, you can then center that text or left/right align the text under the print itself. That feature takes care of 95% of alignment issues. There are also features that allow you to align text labels with other existing labels on the page. These features are much more efficient than trying to eyeball a red line on a ruler while you drag. I hope this makes sense.  I use a Epson 4880 to print cards, it will not recognize a paper size under 8.5X11. I crop the photo to fit the greeting card stock, and tell the printer I'm using 8.5X11 paper. This creates an issue with were the floating text appears. I've included a screen shot. Bob |

What I asked for years ago, before the release of Qimage Studio, and was told would come with an update to text handling, was multiple lines of text (eg in an address) with the lines aligned left or right to same position (or possibly centred), and with equal spacing between the lines. Its basic text functionality, and just about impossible to do with Qimage. |

But Qimage Ultimate is on a fast track development cycle with the highest level of innovation - so we are at the safe side. Let's wait for the next development cycle!

Not sure where you've been: the ability to align to left, center, and right is exactly what was added years ago: in April 2005! Multi-line text was added in 2003! Not only can you justify left, center, or right, you can do it relative to either a print or the entire page. And you can do it on any edge of the print. See screen snap for the buttons if you can't find them. Mike |

There are actually multiple ways to do this. What I'd do is position one label on one print exactly where I want it and then use the floating text function to link to all prints. Then that same label appears the same distance from every print in the queue. Then just change the text associated with the other labels (if necessary). Another way to do it is to link the text to the page instead of the print, position the text all the way at the edge of the paper, and then just enter a blank line (return) below the first line of text to bump it a given distance away from the edge. I can think of a couple other ways too but these should work to give you the exact same alignment on every page (or every print). Mike |
