Hi Mel,
Just getting older. That's all it is.

Open The Utilities tab, upper left.
Select MIGRATE APPLICATION DATA.
The rest is up to you

Hi Fred -

Thanks - but that's not what I want to do.  I just want a new blank folder for the albums for a new big project I'm starting/

So I select a bunch of prints - click "Add to Album" and the Album screen opens.  It even lets me type in the name of a new folder for the album.  When I do that, QU actually creates the new folder, but then the "Create new Album" button disappears.

I'm not sure about getting older - just slower - much, much slower.

Mel

Mel,
Now I am lost.
I click on album button. The album box opens. I click Create New Album. I name it and describe it.
I close up, go back to main screen and select the thumbs that go into the album, right click and ADD TO ALBUM.
I click on the album button, find my new album in the list, and there's my pictures.

Where are we deviating? I know I am a deviant.

Well, I see I did my typically outstanding job of explaining myself.  Yes I can create a new album by doing exactly what you describe.  That isn't the issue.

What I want to do is have a new - and initially empty - folder to put those albums in.  I could accomplish this by removing all of the albums currently in the folder - but I really don't want to get rid of these.  QU even tells me that I can create a new folder and in fact lets me do that - but after I create the new folder, I can't create an album to put in the folder.  I'm not on my QU computer right now so I can't show you screen shots of what I want to do.

If I am still not making sense, I will attempt to clarify later with screen shots

Thanks again

OK Mel,
We finally got to what you want to do
Here's what I just did.
1) I renamed the ALBUM folder to ALBUM1.
2)I Created a NEW FOLDER and named it ALBUM.
Now I have an essentially empty Album folder to which I added two freshly made albums.
3) I did not lose the old albums as they are stored in the ALBUM1 folder for the future if needed.

I am a Mensch
Fred

This works great and let's me do just what I want.  Once I am done with the project, I can rename the folder to one matching the project and then start anew with an empty folder.  Interesting that QU will let me navigate to any of these folders to open an album, it just wont let me create new albums in any other than a folder named Albums.

And you are a mensch  - and I would know - I used to be one.
