question for Fred. You mentioned colorimetric. I don't see it listed in Qimage for rendering intent!
Another complication, some images which I imported today, came into Qimage as in grayscale. I just don't understand this.
Just for the record, I downloaded the same images into Photoshop and in the print module no gamut warnings were displayed.
Since I never has these warnings in previous Qimage versions, I wonder whether I should download the 2023.103 again?
OK Bill I'll try, but you seem to be fixated on this gamut stuff.
First of all, the most accurate color print is from the Colorimetric setting. Perceptual is excellent too but it is more flexible in that it will move some shades if the printer cant cope so it looks fine.
You need to click on the tool icon (wrench) located at the right edge of the printer profile slot. See attached images
That will produce a selection box where you can dot which you choose. Make two prints. One set at Perceptual and the other set to Colorimetric. Use an image with some bright reds and blues.
Why Photo Shop shows nothing about gamut, sorry, I know almost nothing about the innards of Photo Shop. Their track record has been less than admirable.
As we said, the paper and profile selection will have the main effect on the gamut.
Cannot answer gray scale imported images. You are welcome to send me a copy of one of those guys and from what and after you did what.
Relax.... just print and make your judgement
Fred
