Title: Global Filters Settings Under Queue Settings - SOLVED
Post by: davezub on November 11, 2016, 04:38:05 PM
I'm a novice user of Qimage Ultimate, seeing if I can automate some onsite event photography. I'm using version 2017.106. I've created a custom filter that has a custom cutout and other settings. I go to Settings  | Job Properties and I Check Global Filter and select my filter. When I add my photos to the queue the global filter is not applied to photos in the queue. My assumption is that any photos that I add to the queue the globla filter will be applied to them. I also tried the same filter on Print Filter and the filter did not apply when I printed the queue. Am I using this feature correctly?

It works here perfectly.
But let's go over your steps

1) An image in the editor
2) You set up  your adjustments
3) you click FILE ... Save current parameters to a file.
4) You name it
5) select6 that saved file after checking Global Filter,

Try it.
Works for making a JPG or a print

Now for the queue, different approach
You add your images, and fix one the way you wish, just as in Global filer making, but when you are done, click done or Next and change the dot to APPLY TO ALL IN THE QUEUE.
See snap

Fred, Thanks. I just assumed if you have Global Filter selected it would automagically use the filter on anything placed in the queue. I'm trying to reduce/automate our workflow, and having this done automatically would be a great feature. Maybe in a future release of Qimage.  Thanks for the help.

It is actually faster and easier to do it as I wrote by changing that dot to apply to all in queue. Done. No need to mess with Global filter.
It also has another advantage.
Suppose you have 5 images in teh queue, and you did a cutout, added contrast and sharpening.
One of the images shows a click or two too much contrast. Just open that image back in the editor and tweak that one filter.

Enjoy, and feel free to post anytime.

I've never used a global filter but have used a print filter in the past.
A Printer Filter never shows on the image until it is printed -  you can check that with print preview set in your driver.
I have just check Global filters - it does not show on the page preview or the page editor unless you click HQ Preview. If you double click a thumb to open the editor, you'll see the cutout (or any other edit) added.
