Title: How to move Qimage Ultimate configuration to a new computer?
Post by: Justan on December 12, 2011, 09:29:59 PM

I have Qimage Ultimate installed on a computer.

I want to relocate the configuration of the Qimage install, including, if possible, all the custom print sizes and Qimage Jobs I've set up, to a new computer.

Can this be done? If so, is there a written procedure for this somewhere?

TIA

Hi Justan,
Yes it is possible but there isn't anything "official" written down.
I did it last year.
You need to make a copy of the Qimage Program Data and copy the contents of certain folders to your new PC.
C:\ProgramData\ddisoftware\Qimage
See attached below.
Don't bother with the raw cache or thumbs, just let them re-build on the new PC.
An important thing is to keep a copy of the as installed folders on the new PC too.
You will probably have to re-set the printer on saved jobs and printer set-ups and you must make sure file paths to images are identical to the old machine.
Do a few trials by copying just one job and one printer set-up across and see how you get on.

Justan,
Just to clarify, Your new installation of Qimage Ultimate will create all the new folders.
Qimage will create all of the folders it needs, such as SAVE, FILTERS, PROFILES, etc.
They will be empty for the most part.
Then take the contents of your old identical folders and fill the new folders with the saved data.
Use Copy and Paste.
