Fred, I believe Brad is referring to the continuous stream of error messages saying Control " has no parent window. What else could it be?
Geraldo,
Thanks for the help.
If your description of the pile of error messages like that is correct, then my advice is to turn off the anti virus (disable it) and download and install a fresh copy of 2015-118.

All is clear except for the "continuous stream of control" What does that mean?

. What else could it be?
True. I apologize that the string was truncated. However, I seem to have found a work-around (i.e. the "cancel" once method) and now the continuous stream of "Control " has no parent" messages no longer happens. If it re-occurs, I'll let you know.

The stream of "Control has no parent" windows has just recurred (QU v2015.118) . This time, it was after I had a forced shutdown so that Qimage didn't close normally. I restarted Qimage with the "normal" option, opened the job log, tried to load a previous job and got the stream of "Control has no parent" windows. I had to terminate Qimage with the task manager. When I restarted Qimage (again with the "normal" option), the scenario repeated. My "cancel once" work-around isn't working. I see that v2015.128 is available, so I will install that and see if the problem goes away.

OK, I think QU is working again following a recurrence of "Control has no parent" windows. After killing QU (v2015.128) with Task Manager, I restarted it and this time chose "Reset" mode. Now I can reload previous jobs from the job log.

That usually means that Q shut down and something interrupted the shut down with the result being a "shmushed" file saved in the ini file.
Shmushed is computer talk for corrupted.
Reset made a new ini file.
best
