Image Read Error

Great product, with great support.
I am running 2024.101 on a win10 machine.
I have been running into a lot of "Image Read Error" issues as it is generating the thumbnails.
Now some of these files are huge- I am printing a series of 40x60" prints- and downsizing them just a little works.
But often I see no cause.
I had 3 variants of an image saved. They were exactly the same file size. The naming differed only by a number-- 1,2,3.
No other differences. No spaces, symbols or anything.
Two loaded normally, one gave me an image read error. I renamed that file changing the number- and it loaded fine.
For example file name: sun n fun IR 041024 020895
File size is 9000x6001 pixels.
This gives me a "image read error"
None of this is a deal breaker- but is annoying.
Is there something I can change in my naming protocol?
Thanks in advance for any help and guidance.
Gary

Hi Gary,
9000 x 6000 is relatively small: only about 160 MB. Double that if it's 16 bits/channel which is still pretty small. Qimage can handle images 6-12 times that size easily.
So I wonder, what format are these images: TIFF, PSD, etc?
Also, do they have layers? Sometimes layers can cause issues and flattening images will prevent problems. I don't think it's the naming convention. It's probably just the order in which they are accessed along with some incompatibility with layers.
Regards,
Mike

That file is not one of the larger ones, but I still get an error message.
These are saved as Tiff, 16 bit, no compression.
The files are flattened, no layers saved. I have working files with layers, but saved to a different folder.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks again, Mike

I can't really diagnose image-specific issues remotely so if you want to put the image (or a few images) in question on Google Drive or something and give a link, I can take a look and see if I can repeat the problem.

Mike
