Hi to everybody,

couldn't anybody tell me, please, in which files Qimage Ultimate is storing settings ?
My situation - I need to restore OS and to reinstall Qimage. I've zipped whole folder - C:\ProgramData\ddisoftware\Qimage,
but there is an older Qimage version, and for now there is available a fresh one.
So how can I restore Qimage settings (if it is possible) ?
In past - I usually re-write files over in this folder. But this is in the case when Qimage has the same version...
And now versions are different...

I think I know what you are looking for::::
The settings (ini file) plus others are stored in C:\Program Files (x86)\Qimage-U

Save that one and the ones you mentioned, and you should be fine.

Fred,

thank you for an answer. And so fast..  Smiley
Let me ask 1 more thing - if I restore full 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Qimage-U' folder saved from old Qimage version to new Qimage version installation - will the new version files be overwritten ? In other words - does Qimage keeps it's prorgam files and libraries in -'C:\Program Files (x86)\Qimage-U' folder ? Or no...

Ok This is the way it works, for us.
All the stuff in C:\Program Files (x86)\Qimage-U folder when placed in the new computer setup, Plus the other storage files you zipped put into its proper place will run the same Qimage as was running before.
We are not concerned with upgrades for the moment.
As soon as you have QU running, which starts and functions from that Qimage-U folder which includes dll files, chm files ini files, and icm files, now you  install version 120. That will overwrite whatever it needs to refresh in \Qimage-U folder.
I am not sure what you are doing with your operating system, reinstalling Windows on a new drive, or what, so I add this.
In case Qimage needs a registry complement to run from the old files, it's OK. Just install 120 and then run it.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for response.
I'ii try to describe my situation..
I do not know if I did the right thing, but nevertheless - it works.
I've restored system partition on my  SSD (with OS installed, but without Qimage). And I have zipped folder 'C:\ProgramData\ddisoftware\Qimage' with Qimage version 2017.118.
And then I installed QU 2017.120. After it I deleted all files in directory - 'C:\ProgramData\ddisoftware\Qimage'. And restored there files from zipped backup.
It is a situation of transfer old version Qimage settings to new installation and newer version.
After all Qimage seems functioning in proper way with my old settings..

May be something is wrong ? I don't know... (especially what concerning registry settings)..

Sounds like you did just fine. Also sounds like you restored your SSD partition which contained the C: drive with Windows and Registry in tact.
So nothing was needed. My reference to the registry was in case you had a new drive and were starting from scratch, new Windows, new, registry.

So you are all good.
Anything else pops up which needs an answer, feel free to holler on here.
