Hi
When I try to open the Image Editor, it opens only as a narrow vertical stripe that snaps to the left edge of the monitor and can not be moved from there. Referring to the menu bar, the window starts at left with the File menu, but is cut off a little, e.g. the word under the Sharpen field reads "rgeting".
I run 2 monitors as a contiguous desktop. The one on the right hand side contains the the menu bar. The Editor window snaps to the left edge of the left monitor.
Windows7 on a Mac via Bootcamp.
 Huh?

Hi Hening,
Hopefully some other dual monitor user will come in to help you here but I have used Qimage in dual mode for a slide show - laptop & projector without any problems at all. I tried both cloned and extended desktop (Windows terminology) and both worked fine.
I assume the same could be done with the editor screen but I can't test it here, I may have an opportunity later next week.
Are you using the Windows 7 dual monitor features or the Mac ones? Maybe there is problem there, just guessing.

Hi Terry,
thank you for your concern.
It almost looks like I - partly - solved the problem by disabling Scaling for both monitors in the Windows version of the in the NVDIA graphics card driver. Now when I double-click the image in the main image pane, the Image Editor opens covering the whole monitor, thus obscuring the Qi main window, but it can then be dragged to the other monitor, filling that entirely. The window can not be changed in size. Somewhat unhandy, but better than before.

Uff, when I open the Full Page Editor via the loupe icon in the main image window rather than by double-clicking the image, it behaves more civilized. So all is well. :-) Hening.

I'm pleased to hear it. Dual monitor stuff can be tricky at times.

Just re-read what you said:
Quote

Double clicking the "image" on the preview (or thumb) opens the Image Editor. Double clicking in the preview area on the RHS of the screen opens the Page Editor - not the same thing.
Just thought I ought to clarify that.

Uff! Thanks for clarifying. Anyway, both can now be opened.

Alas, the problem is not solved - I can not repeat opening the Image Editing window, it always snaps to the left edge of the monitor, as described. And the same does the window which opens after clicking the High Precision Crop tool in the Page Editor window. I'm stuck and hope for help.
Sigh - Hening.

BTW I have in the meantime updated to version 2012.100.

Sorry to hear that   Sad
I had the opportunity today to check QU on a dual set-up. It was with a laptop and projector running Windows 7.
After connecting to the projector I used the the Display item in Control Panel to set the extended desktop (it was the default).
I tried both the Page editor and Image Editor; after opening each one in turn, I dragged the editor window across to the projector screen. I could close and open those screens and each time they opened correctly where I had left them.
I suspect your problem is some conflict with the Mac display settings and the W7 settings. Did you make all the settings through W7?
It's certainly not a QU problem.

Hi Terry,

thank you for your concern and the experiments you have done.

I made the following monitor adjustments through Windows:
Control Panel > Appearance > Display > Adjust Resolution/Change Display Settings (which latter two both open the same pane, namely Change Display Settings; the resolution pane is the one open when Display is clicked);

NVIDIA control panel:
Change Resolution
Adjust Desktop Size and Position
Set Up Multiple Displays

I tried to eliminate the dual monitor problem. Turned off the 2nd monitor and started QU on the main monitor. Opening the Image Editing window seems to return nothing - but when I switch the 2nd monitor on again, the Image Editing window is THERE - a collapsed vertical stripe at the left edge, as before.

I tried a different Windows program, PhotoLine. It also opens on the 2nd screen even if that screen is turned off. But obviously only because it was opened there the last time it was opened - If I drag the window to the 1st monitor, then quit and re-start the app, the window opens on the 1st monitor. And it opens correctly. Well, the main window of QU also opens correctly, as do other sub-windows of QU, it is only the Image Editing window that does not.

Uff - the window opens if the former second monitor is made 1st monitor, i.e. contains the menu bar at bottom. The window fills the whole screen and can not be resized, but at least it's open… It can be dragged to the now-second monitor, filling that entirely.

Thank you again. Hening.
