Hi All,

I just started getting the Subject error code in a directory of jpg images.  It's the first time I've ever seen it.  Anyone know what it means?

Qimage appears to be working fine.

I keep getting the same message.  I clicked on a new drive and it put about 100 copies of this message and I had to close them all.  Anybody got a clue?

That error is basically an error for a corrupted JPEG.  When is this happening (when you move the mouse over thumbnails, when you print, etc.).  Where is this happening (in any/all folder, just one folder, etc.)?

For me, it's happening when I go into a new folder.  It starts plastering multiple copies of this warning across the screen.  I have suddenly started having multiple problems with both my studio version and the trial version of QU.  It may be a network problem but I have no idea where to look.  In QS and QU it takes 2-3 minutes for thumbnails to come open, the programs just crash, I will load up several pages of prints and it will print the first one fine and then stoop and my print queue window shows an error in printing.  We are in the middle of a really busy time and I spent most of the day yesterday trying to fix this without bothering you guys but I am at a complete standstill with people screaming at me. (OK, it's not quite that bad, yet.)
Where do I look to figure out the problem.  I so wish there were some kind of phone support.
Thanks for whatever you can do.

There are two things that might be a good idea to try.  First, reinstall Qimage Ultimate.  No need to uninstall: just install again.  If there are bad files from the install, that will correct it.  Second, go to "Utilities", "Manage Thumbs and Raw Cache" and select "Delete all thumbs/raw cache".  See if that fixes it.

Thanks.  I need to use QImage Studio because I am not going to buy Ultimate until I see how well this stuff works and the 4 print limit is killing me.  I've used QS for years in the studio, on our network and for all our print on site stuff and I can't figure out why it suddenly went nuts on me.
THanks,

Didn't really say that right.  I don't want to spend the money until I get these issues resolved.  I know the program works but if I can'[t figure out these issues I can't continue to use it.  The 4 print limit is still killing me.

I downloaded QU again and it appears to be working better than before but I can't really test it because I'm using and Epson 7800 and I can't print enough images to see if it will continue on and print a second or third page.  That has been one of the problems with QS - prints the first page and then quits.

You are aware that the 4 print limit is part of the DEMO version restriction?

Danny,

OK.  Didn't know that: you're posting in a Qimage Ultimate thread.  But my response above is the same for Studio.  Did you try the reset in Studio... and reinstall Studio?

Fred,

I AM aware of that.  It just makes it very difficult for me to honestly evaluate it since I rarely print that small a number at one time and the main problem I am having now is that I will send two (or more) sheets to the printer and it will print the first one and then shut down.  This is happening in both QU and QS and I have reset and re-installed them both.  I've also rebooted all four computers along with my modems and other network advice and am now into my third day of no production and the stress of not being able to solve a problem that just came out of nowhere.  I've also un-installed the only program I have downloaded in the past 2 weeks (WorkStream - a new ordering program from one of our labs)
All suggestions are appreciated and acted upon.
Mike, do I need to re-post this in QS thread as well?  I tried to make it clear earlier that these problems apply to both versions.
I am also getting "I/O error 1231" codes from time to time (in both) now, as well.

Danny,
Best I can do is a google of i/o error 1231. The search revealed:

ERROR_NETWORK_UNREACHABLE
1231 (0x4CF)

The network location cannot be reached. For information about network troubleshooting, see Windows Help.

Maybe that might be of some help.

Fred,

Thanks. Any ideas on why it will only print one sheet?

Let's have a set up of information, and I'll try.

You have an Epson 7800
Sheet paper; what size?
Prints, how many and what size each on a sheet?
Let's see what you are attempting!

Fred,

Yes, Epson 7800.  I use both 17" and 24" rolls and print a variety of sizes from 4x6 to 24x30 including numerous odd sizes such as 6x13.  My two most recent attempts were 36 4x6 prints on 24" paper (which I could not try with QU due to the 4 print limit) and 4 8x10's on 17" paper.  I never got he 4x6's printed and for the 8x10's it printed the first two (essentially one sheet) and then threw an error code in the print queue box and shut down.  I finished those on one of my Epson 2880's.  As I mentioned earlier, it may be a network problem because the 7800 runs on a Cat 6 cable and the 2880's are on USB.  My IT guy is coming in later today to try and figure that part out.  It's just strange that it started happening all of a sudden.
Thanks for any help you might be able to render.
