Title: largest file size
Post by: HC on June 07, 2020, 08:31:21 PM
Started printing a large panorama saved as PSB file with a size of 4 Gb but getting a Read Error message.
What is the largest file size that QImage Ultimate can handle?

Max is between 1 and 2 GB depending on the system and type of file.  What size are you printing?  Did you upsample your panorama in another program or is it original frames from the camera?

The last one was 24x96 inches and another one is 24x135 inches. Any upsampling is usually done in Photoshop CC although I have use Genuine Fractals.  Can usually only save as PSB files due to their size.
I really like the output sharpening of Qimage and would like to be able to use the program for the output of the files.

What is the size of the original (just the panorama panels put together) before you upsample it?  You should let Qimage upsample: you may be making the file too big outside of Qimage by upsampling with GF or PS, where Qimage could easily handle the file before upsampling and it'll upsample it during printing.  You'd probably get a better print of you don't upsample outside of Qimage because by adding pixels outside of Qimage, you are taking away Qimage's ability to do smart sharpening based on the actual pixels available (original resolution) and interpolate once to the exact PPI needed for the print size you chose.
