Hello,

I printed a large 29" canvas with 2" of outer border on my Canon pro 4100 and noticed a lighter hue line running across this colored border. I printed again from another computer and the line is still there. I even made this border in Photohop, printing from Qimage and the line is there.
I then printed the image from another software and the line finally disappeared.
It seems that the fault is not the printer driver but Qimage itself.

Best,
Silviu

This is not a Qimage issue.  Are you using a mirror border?  Look at the very bottom of your image and you'll find one or two horizontal lines that are slightly lighter in color.  When you print, that will be reflected in the print.  Other programs may not have enough detail/resolution to show it.

Regards,
Mike

No mirroring, it's a solid color. It happened three times until printing from another software.

Post the image.  That line is in your image.

I don't see how the line could be from the image if this is a solid color border but here is a crop from the top part

OK.  I see.  That's why I wanted the image: because I can't really tell what is what from seeing a small corner of a print.  Initially it looked like that side of the image already had a tan border as part of the image and you picked that color as your border to extend it.  In this case, if that whole tan bar is border, it is definitely not Qimage!  When Qimage prints a border, it literally sends a solid rectangle of one color to the printer: it is one statement/call to the driver that says "print a rectangle of this color at this size/location" so there is no way Qimage can print a line inside it.  If your printer prints a line inside that border, it is the printer/driver.  What printer are you using?  Bring up that same job that you printed from the automated job log and once it loads, turn on print preview in the driver and print it again so you can see a preview on the screen before it prints.  Zoom in on that print preview and you will likely see no line there, proving it is the printer.

Just the way that line appears, it looks like a printer issue, possibly with ink delivery close to the edge of the printed area.  It is irrelevant that another software doesn't produce a line: other software may be printing at a lower resolution, slightly different (RGB) color, etc.

It's from a Canon Pro 4100

I will make more test and keep you informed.

Thank you!
