Title: Log file definitions in Studio and Ultimate alike an where to find?
Post by: Ernst Dinkla on December 09, 2010, 01:54:07 PM
For accounting and archiving I used a copy of Qimage on another system to gather all log files produced (Windows schedule) but wonder if it can cope with Ultimate files. Then the main question, where are the log files hidden these days? With both a copy of Studio and Ultimate on one system I see no log map in Ultimate and I see no recent jobs added to the Studio map. While both Ultimate and Studio seem to update the same map/file till this day.

Hi Ernst,

I don't think they are particularly hidden  ;)
The location does vary according to operating system  but he easiest way to locate the log folder is to use the Qimage Utilities menu  and select "Explore Qimage Application Data". You will see the Log folder in the list.
Where there is a copy of Q-SE and Q-U on the same system, both share the same Application data so which ever version is used, the log should be updated.
I now have a new PC with only Q-U installed but the old XP machine had both Q-SE and QU and I know the Application data was shared without any problems because I did recall some old Q-SE jobs from within Q-U.

Terry,

Thank you for the guidance. And yes, they had to be equal to work for both versions.
