Title: Logo on a picture like a signature Post by: bobcoss on November 20, 2015, 02:06:38 AM Hi,
I'm preparing some prints, and I have to place a logo on top of each image. The logo is a PSD file with a transparent background. What would be the bet way to achieve this? Thank you in advance, Bob Title: Re: Logo on a picture like a signature Post by: Terry-M on November 20, 2015, 07:47:03 AM Hi Bob,
It's easy to place a small image on top of another by using the freehand mode and "bring to front" in the page editor context menu. However any transparency in the logo will not show. It may be possible to modify the logo and use it like a QU Signature. See QU Help and search for signature. You will see a QU signature requires a separate mask image to produce transparency on a print. Some time ago I made some additional notes about QU Signatures with examples and you can still download them here. http://www.pbase.com/tjm04/qu_signatures (http://www.pbase.com/tjm04/qu_signatures) Try these samples out to get the hang of it and then maybe you can make a mask image of the logo, ie. one where the background is RGB 0,0,0 and the elements of the logo to show 255,255,255. I said: Quote It may be possible to modify the logo and use it like a QU Signature. Yes, that works. I downloaded a PNG with a transparent background and made it into a QU Signature, all within QU.I converted to a jpeg, made the mask using the QU editor (curves and select colour) and then applied it. See screen shots below. The first is the image and mask. The second is it applied as a signature to a print, top left. Thank you for the ideas. I have been trying to use it as a signiature, but having a bit of trouble building the mask. I'll try the QU method you were talking about. Thank you for the great support. I'll send you a message from the forum with my email address. Then you can send the logo file if you wish and I'll see what I can doo - all good fun for winter days! Terry |
