I have been using Qimage versions Pro, Studio, and Ultimate for several years, yet I suddenly feel dumb as a rock. I thought I knew about templates but after several experiments I found otherwise. Is there any template knowledge source other than Qimage Functions and Qimage - Learn by Example? These are limited to few examples.

The predominate questions I have are:
  • What determines the template on the sample page? My sample page has 3 gray 3.5x5 templates.
  • How to create template 3.5x5, 2 to page, continue page after page with 2 per page?

Not sure if this is what you want, but drag the template (The blank image labelled 'template') as often as required from the thumbnail area to the page editor, arrange and resize as required, then save it as a layout. Then from just below the page editor  'size', 'custom' then select 'layout' then name of file you saved the layout.

The print size that you have chosen is what makes the template as Ray indicated; drag the template to the upper right preview panel/

The things you see on the page marked sample are not really templates, but simulated place holders to give the user a reminder of the size print that is current, and how is might look on the page with multiple prints.

This should help. It will show you how to create, set up, and create a template for future use, and how to SAVE it and then Call upon it when needed.

The video helped in pointing out the "Freehand Placement" must be turned on to prevent automatic placement of template elements. That was my major problem. Thanks again, Fred.
