Title: Malwarebytes reporting malware
Post by: nbagno on May 11, 2021, 03:29:48 AM
Today, malwarebytes reported the following two "infections"

File: 1
Malware.AI.407299886, C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\QIMAGE-U\UNWISE.EXE

Registry Key: 1
Malware.AI.407299886, HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\UNINSTALL\Qimage Ultimate

It's a false positive.  Some anti-malware programs don't like the Qimage Uninstaller because it was not digitally signed prior to 2021.101.  My guess is you have a version of Qimage prior to 2021.101 installed and it is complaining about the uninstaller.  The uninstaller is now signed (since 2021.101) so this is no longer an issue.  If any anti-malware programs give the same report on a Qimage Ultimate version 2021.101 or later, they are just simple false positives.
