Is there a way to give the photo mat a bevelled look? Also adding just a black line around the image or is this more a affinity photo or photoshop process?

All of these can be done with either photo mats, borders, or a combination of both.  Do you have an example of what you want to do?  Then I could better guide you to which feature is most appropriate.

Do you have a video for this? If not I have a simple white border around my photo now how do I make it look like a bevel so it looks like a real matt?

Not being able to see what you want, you mentioned a black line so... why don't you use an outer border of .01 with a black color?  For example, let's say your existing white border is 1/4 inch.  Keep your inner border set to .25 with a color of white and your outer border to .01 with a color of black.  That way you'll get a thin black line around the whole thing.  If you want to get more complicated than that and do something like a frame, you could add a cutout in the image editor.

Attached is what I've done in the past with using a Cutout. The Cutout image was created in a 'drawing' program.

You would do it the way Terry posted: with a cutout.  You can use one of the included ones or create your own.

Double click on an image to open it in the editor and then click "Cutout" to open the cutouts and pick one.

Here's a ZIP file with a few user-created bevel cutouts that were created through the years.  You can take these files and put them in the Qimage cutouts folder: in Qimage, click Utilities, Browse Qimage Application Data, go to the Cutouts folder, and put the images in the ZIP in that folder.
