Title: Maximum Paper length Post by: BackdropJunction on May 22, 2011, 03:36:31 AM So I re-loaded my printer drivers to see if that would help with my previous problem. Haven't tried the same thing yet so dont know. But now I am trying to print an image 660" long on 17" x 100' roll paper. When I go into User Define to define the paper size the program is limiting me to only 590". Why would it do that? I have used about 37' of the 100' foot roll for other print jobs. There should be 63' remaining of the roll and the print job is 55'. Not sure if the program even knows how much is on the roll anyway.
I have watched the tutorials on setting paper and image size. Title: Re: Maximum Paper length Post by: BackdropJunction on May 22, 2011, 03:44:16 AM Okay did some reading. So maybe someone could just confirm I got this right.
My image is 660" long. Program only allows me to enter 590" So if I select Roll Paper Banner mode Then put up my image and select the size I want 17" x 660" Hit borderless so it goes full bleed top and bottom. I should get a warning saying two pages are necessary due to the length Go ahead and print as I am using a roll and the full 660" will print with no breaks? Is this correct? Thanks Title: Re: Maximum Paper length Post by: Fred A on May 22, 2011, 09:24:17 AM Qimage will print a "poster" that is 1x2 in size (one page wide and two pages tall). Since you selected "roll" or "banner" paper in the print driver, when Qimage gets to the bottom of the first page and starts printing the second page, there will be no break in the print because there is no "page eject" command when using roll paper. The result is one continuous print at the size selected. In the example where the print driver is limited to a 44 inch page length and you print a 13 x 50 print, Qimage will print the first 13x44 inch page followed by a 13x6 inch page. Since both of these "pages" are printed on a continuous roll, there is no break and the result is a continuous 13x50 inch print.
That is a quote from the LEARN by EXAMPLE 6A in your help file. Please read the entire 6A section for the rest of the instructions. THe printer works just fine when printing from the MAC side of the house. I'm sure QI is awesome but with the mulitple crashes each day and now error messages its a bit frustrating.
Any idea what this one means? Title: Re: Maximum Paper length Post by: Fred A on May 22, 2011, 08:53:37 PM Quote Now its telling me the Scan Line index is out of range. Gonna keep playing and see if I can figure it out. Works fine for me with Win 7 64bit running in VirtualBox. But I don't print anything near the size of your prints. I know that changing print spooling options was needed when I first set up, over a year ago. Incidentally, my photographic printer is attached to a Linux Box on the LAN. Does that suggest I have something wrong in QI? SOmething I need to adjust?
I reloaded both QI and the newest printer drivers from Epson but I am still getting the error. THis is a long print spanning two pages using the method Fred referred me too. Could there be something in there I am screwing up? Thanks |
