I often use the Soft Proof facility (Ctrl+Space) and when I'm done studying the result I usually want to print.  However, wherever the mouse is at the time I cancel the soft proof, it is always placed back on the thumbnail.  This causes a lot of otherwise unnecessary motion going from the far left of the screen (the thumbnail) to the upper right (the printer icon).

Is there a useful reason the mouse always goes back to the thumbnail?  Can it be left where it was when the request to exit the soft proof is made?

It sounds like you are using the full screen soft proof which takes up the whole screen so when you exit the full screen mode, it is useful to restore the mouse to where it was before you went full screen: so you can see which thumbnail you just previewed and potentially move to the next one.

Why don't you use the more robust soft proof under the live view where you can view the whole page and any prints on it.  Add the image(s) to the live view and then click the soft proof button under the live view.

Regards,
Mike

Yeah, I do that too, but I find it less distracting to concentrate on the full screen proof without all the other elements of the app around it.

Thanks
