I was following the tutorial on uneven Border. I couldn't quite replicate what was being done i.e. creating a background template until I noticed your Thumbs had 3 icons; Working left to right Info, print properties and +.  I am missing the properties' icon. FYI I have the latest upgrade V2020.119 installed.
Any ideas as how I can remedy this issue.
Thanks

I really have no idea where you are missing print Properties.
Maybe a screen snap?

As for 2 or 3 thumb icons, I am wondering if you mean like what I am showing here?
Please explain better or a screen snap?

Bill so where is the missing Icon?
The second row? That was the end of the list and shows the template icon which is always the last one.

The missing icon is the one before the template (+) Icon. It appears to be a print properties icon and is not shown in your image nor does it appear on my computer

Bear in mind that the image I sent you is a screen print from your tutorial on uneven borders. Take a peep at that tutorial and you will see what I am talking about.

Bill, I think I figured it out> You are referring to the little icon buttons at the bottom of the thumbnails.
Some are missing the  second on the left side, and some show two on the left.
The JPGs and tifs will only have one on the left. They are missing the REFINE icon button because they are not raw images.

On the image below I have  a screenshot showing three thumbnails, a JPG, a Tiff and a Raw.  And each thumb has only two icons?

Unfortunately, I have gone astray along the way

You are referring to an icon in a 2014 version.  There is no need for that properties button anymore because the print properties are shown on the right now: on the Prints tab.  In the latest version, you click on a thumb (or multiple thumbs) and then click on the size you want on the right side.

Thanks, Mike, for clarification. In fact, how this came to my attention, was because I was following your 2014 tutorial on uneven borders which I was trying to replicate but couldn’t.

Question: Is there an updated video tutorial on uneven borders or do I do make an uneven border in the current version as I find that this feature could be useful to me in the future.

Many Thanks for your response.

It sounds like you might be referring to an old video where Fred showed how to do uneven borders before we had photo mats.  Now the photo mats feature makes it a lot easier.  This video shows how to do it and it really doesn't have anything to do with the properties button on thumbnails or having to manually size prints:

Now there's and interesting video and a reminder of happier times.

First Photo, I took in Lisbon from a moving vintage tram.

I entered it in a competition with a title "I told you your jeans were too tight"

Judge did not get my sense of humour, not many do. Smiley

Thanks for the video. I feel more comfortable with borders or should I say Photo mats now.

I have one final issue and I hope you can resolve it for me. My wish is to place an image with borders on a page with a color other than white. Is it possibe?

There is a "Page Background Color" button under the live view where you can set the color of the page to something other than white.  Remember that the printer can only lay down color within it's printable area though so you'll always have white margins where the printer can't print (unless you use borderless).

Sorry, Mike, I must be blind, I just can't see it. Please, can you sent me a screen print, and point it out to me.

Sorry for causing you so much bother.
Thanks
