Title: Moving Images between Pages
Post by: webdad on January 10, 2011, 03:04:22 PM
I've been a long time user of Qimage, and am now considering move up to Qimage Ultimate.

One thing I've been trying to find (in old Qimage and now Ultimate) is how to move an image from 1 page to another once it is in the Queue.

Any ideas?

I rarely used this feature, but I recollect that you must have more than one image on page one to move one to page 2. Qimage will make a new page, each time you select an image (From the Full Page Editor Screen) and right click on the selected image. From the right click menu, select Push to new page.
Qimage will move that selected image to a new page.
If you have three or four images on that first page, you can move all except the first one.
Qimage does not allow you to move an image which would result in leaving a blank page.

Hope this helps.

I have done the following on odd occasions:
1. Open the full page editor
2. Select the image you wish to move
3. Right Click and choose "Cut to Clipboard"
4. Move to the page where you want to place the image and select an image on that page - it must be one that will be adjacent to the new position of the image you are moving.
5. Right click and choose "Paste Before" or "Paste After" as appropriate.

Another simple way, which can be tedious if the move in the queue is a long one, is to select the image on the Preview, right mouse click and then click the red Up or Down arrows to move it in the Queue.

Thanks for the tip.  That gets me about 25% of what I was looking for.  It looks like it is just a one-way street and it always creates a new page (probably should be labeled "PUSH to NEW page" as opposed to "PUSH to next page".

I had the page set to "optimal/spaced", so I was expecting all pushes from Page 1 to land on Page 2 and only Page 2.

I'll give the "cut / paste" approach a whirl to see how that fits.

Thanks all.
