... and for people like me, he has added a symbol to denote that my print has been enlarged / "zoomed" a tad to comply with the Fit to Paper selection or zoomed manually by zoom slider in the Full Page Editor.
The red circle around the scissor indicates zoom is in play.
Have fun

Hi,

The "Remove white space..." for roll paper is not working properly.

v2015.102
Win 8.1
Epson 9900
The roll paper size is 44"x590".

I added to the queue some photos: 5 of 40x60(cm) and 17 30x40(cm).
At this stage I go to the "Remove white space..." and after clicking it Qi is not clearing the excessive paper.
I tried Optimal and Compact- both not good..

I am in for a very large print job shortly..

Any advice?

What is the page size?
Did you make the page size 595"?
You need to define a page size.

I tried it here on the 9900 and it worked but I was only using 100 inches as the length.  According to MSDN, Windows doesn't support paper lengths over about 128 inches when sending paper length requests to the driver.  I think that's where your problem is.  Try it with the length set to 128 inches and see if it works.  If so, that's the problem: and nothing I can do about that as the Windows printer architecture can't handle setting paper lengths that long.

Regards,

I doubt that.
That is the size of the roll of paper.
Your print is not going to need 560 or 595" of paper.
That page size should be 44 x the length of the prints, plus a couple of inches.

I'm not good with metric sizes, but try a page length of about what I have in the screen snaps.
I need Terry, the Metric man.
The entire roll is 595".

I manage to isolate the problem.

It only happens with 2 or 3 different print sizes on the same job.

Try this:

One size only-

1. Set the page size to 44"x590" in the printer driver size.
2. Add 17 photos 11.81"x15.75" (30x40cm)
3. Now ctrl+w and hit "YES".
The white paper is set to the minimum necessary length.
that is fine and how it should be.

two or more different sizes-

1. Set the page size to 44"x590" in the printer driver size.
2. Add 17 photos 11.81"x15.75" (30x40cm)
3. Add 3 photos 19.69"x27.56" (50x70cm)
4. Now ctrl+w and hit "YES".

The length of the paper remain 590" - not good...

I record the steps if someone wants to see and try reproduce this..

Now try for your number 2,
Add 6 photos 11.81 x 15.75 instead of 17

Add your number 3 as you show it, and try it.

Works fine.

... and that proves that the number of sizes is not the culprit, but as Mike pointed out, Windows has a page length limit.
