hello,
not sure if this is a bug or not...

using v2014.136 but its the same in older versions as well

When I position an image on the page, free hand or on the full page editor, any place other than the top left 0,0 and then double click the image to edit it, then edit and save the edits the image is moved back to the top left 0,0 position.

not sure if its designed to do that or if its a bug.

Good morning,

I cannot make this happen with the information you supplied.

I place a 4 x 5 print in the queue, go into freehand mode (How did you do that? By dragging or by selecting) and open the page editor, and double click the image.
I made a small adjustment in the Image editor, and say DONE; OK save the filter, and it pops back to wherever I put it, same spot.

Can you give a step by step starting from putting the image in the queue at what size print and what size paper?
Can you show a screen snap of your main screen settings and the Page editor?

Hello Fred
ok, so i've had a play around and worked out that it only happens after removing the white space at the bottom (ctrl+W) of the page.

edit... paper size 24x36"

just updated to 2014.137

This is still happening to me

Move an image on the page to some place other than 0,0 - doesn't matter how its moved.
Remove the white space from the bottom of the page.
Double click the image to edit/adjust it - save the changes by clicking done ect
The image returns to 0,0 position - top left corner.

obviously I'm using paper on a roll rather than by the sheet

Canon ipf6100 with all divers and firmware up to date

is this a bug or by design  Huh?

Ok let's work together on this.
.I cannot repeat what you get.

You didn't mention what size print although it probably doesn't make any difference.

My steps
1) Make User defined page 24 x 36
2) I placed an 8 x 10 print on the page.
Depending on what placement you are using it might go to the enter (Optimal Center) or in a corner, (Compact).
Makes no difference because we are going to move it anyway.

See print image in a random location.
I clicked DONE from the Page Editor, and now back on the main screen.

3) Now CTRL W
And the sign tells you that it will change your page to save paper.
So if I am printing an 8 x 10, it will move it to the leading edge of the page so it can STOP and CUT after the print.
I have no way to make it go to zero zero (0,0)
It moves to the edge of the paper in the same plane as where it was sitting.

Please go over my steps, and advise what I missed, or what extra you do.

ok....

1. page size 24x36 roll paper (think this might make a difference because with sheet paper you cant remove the white space at the bottom of the page - Qimage wont let you)

2. select an image to print any size as long as it's smaller than the paper size

3. move the image to a different position, any thing other than 0,0 top left - click and drag to a different position or double click the page and use the full page editor to move the image - either way the image is moved to some place else. I don't think it matters what the automatic placement is set to because when you move it the free hand placement comes into effect.

4. remove the white space at the bottom of the page - press ctrl-w or right click on the page and select remove white space - the unused paper is removed and the page is made shorter, up to the bottom of the image. This is visible, the page gets shorter on the screen.

5. double click on the image to bring up the image editor or right click on the image and select edit image.

6. edit the image - make some kind of change like brighten it for instance - anything BUT it must be some kind of change. the preview box pops up and click OK on that then click Done to save the changes. click on OK when the next pop up window pops up and returns to the main window/page view.

7. the image then moves back to 0,0 top left.

this is also regardless of how many images are on the page and their position.

I have a feeling that if the printer doesn't have the facility to use paper on a roll Qimage wont change the size of the paper and it won't be possible to replicate the problem.
by removing the white space it physically changes the paper size in the printer set-up...
where as, if its printing on a sheet, ie, the printer cant take a roll and can't cut the paper Qimage wont change the paper size....

if that all makes sense?!

Good morning,
I found some craziness too. I didn't get the 0,0 positioning, but I got the image to leave the page, ended with a blank page, depending where I moved it to start.
I have your printer driver and I was using roll paper and your settings. I try to do that so I can repeat your steps.

Nevertheless, let's hang in for the next update as Mike is fixing a couple or things related to what you are reporting, and what I got also.
By the way, thanks for the step by step... it makes a big difference.
Sometimes the sequence, which click goes before which, or using CTRL W or clicking the same request from the right Mouse Menu. It all makes the difference between being able to repeat what you found or not.

morning fred
yes, I have experienced the image moving to another page as well...

but i was finding it hard to replicate it.... and thought I'd see about the image moving back to 0,0 first.
which is not a huge issue and easy to work around... just do the editing first and then the positioning!!!

anyway thanks for your time and I'll wait for an update.
