Title: Nozzle Check Pattern
Post by: AlanH on June 27, 2023, 03:01:13 PM
Recently, I've suspected some clogged nozzles (gray ink) on my Canon PRO-100. Rather than run the Canon cleaning cycle, I remembered that Qimage allows targeted cleaning/nozzle checks. So, I fired up a print pattern for the black/gray channel, but I have no idea what it's supposed to look like. I've looked at the online documentation, but it doesn't seem to cover this aspect of the software. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

The unclog tool is for unclogging or exercising nozzles regularly to prevent clogs.  It is not to test nozzles or discern if any are not firing: you have to use the nozzle check in the driver for that.  The typical workflow is to print a nozzle check from the driver's Maintenance tab and if any of the nozzle patterns are choppy or "broken", you can then run the unclog pattern (full page, one time) and then reprint the nozzle check pattern again from the driver.  If you still have missing nozzles, then run the actual cleaning cycle from the driver.

Regards,
Mike

Thanks, Mike, for the workflow clarification. I follow your suggestion and see if I can get my gray fully working, again.
