Title: ODR A/B comparator
Post by: Fred A on July 14, 2016, 09:15:50 AM
Quote
v2016.156 includes:

Raw refine: New A/B option in raw refine allows developing the image two different ways with the ability to compare and switch between A/B settings!

Oh Boy, if only I could see if I liked my white balance. So many spots to choose from for a reference.
Well, now I can!!
I can do my White Balance, and compare to before, or I can do my White Balance and lock that, and find another reference point and try another; and compare first WB selection to a second WB click spot.
That's just the beginning!!
Now I can do my ODR and redraw focus over and over being able to compare whether I like the new focus detail better by comparing two screens or options A/B.

Now I can use fill and HDR if you prefer, and can compare "B" screen with a set of FILL and HDR numbers, to "A" screen with other number..

SAVE the screen you like the best....

This may be "The Bees' Knees", but now you will be able to see the Bee after he bent his knees and before.

Please watch the video. Make full screen so you get HD.

Please enjoy and practice.

Holler if you need help!
Fred

A very useful feature.

Thanks to Fred for a very informative video.

I am sure I will be able to make good use of this function.

Working on some images of a Petanque match taken yesterday in full glaring sun, far from ideal lighting.

Noel Coward had the right idea, but almost right on the wording.

He should have included Petanque somewhere

So where is ODR in the latest Qimage?
And HDR?
We need some docs to just show where everything is now or at leat list things which are gone?

Each item on your screen has a little red V. Click those for a more updated video.

Did you not read this?

See screen snaps.

In your post, please repost with specifics. "I am trying to put 3 prints on one 13" x 19" page. The print sizes are different from each other; one is 5 x 7, one is 4 x 6, and the other 8 x 10. and i want them to be all vertical as they are when I got them ready to print"
I want the the little girl to be top  left... and.......
Something like that.

Ok Jim
Waiting for your reply.
Fred
Ok Jim,
Let's start over.
I asked for some specifics on a task that you would like to accomplish easily.
So far, I have received nothing from you.
My plan is always to reproduce what the user is trying to accomplish and walk through it with you.
This way, you get to succeed, and with hands on, step by step, you get to learn how the program works, and it will amaze you.
I am willing to stay with you post by post, and I will make a video for you of how to accomplish what you need, and if you are in teh US or Canada, I will be happy to walk through with you on the telephone.

But!!  You have to help too by supplying what  specifics are requested.

Take your choice,   Posting, Custom videos or telephone?

Fred

If you refuse to accept the help as offered, and just wish to post complaints about not finding what you want, then perhaps one of the other folks on here can help you better than I can.

Is "where is ODR" not a question?
It is not addressed in any video choice on the current screens.
It is demonstrated in many old videos.

Somehow I'm not being clear. I have watched all these videos. It is not a question of how.
It is the simple fact that my  version (trial ) simply do not have any screens like in the videos.

Maybe it would help if you post a screen shot of what you are getting?  I feel like we are missing something, like maybe you stumbled onto an old demo of Qimage Studio or something, because the screens in the current version are identical to those in the videos that Fred posted above.  Keep in mind that ODR, HDR, and the A/B comparator are raw refine tools so they'll only be applicable to raw images.  If you see a thumbnail of a raw photo, you can click the refine raw button (as Fred does in the video) or right click on the raw thumbnail and select "Refine Raw Exposure" from the right click menu.  Otherwise (if it's not a raw image), those tools are not available.
