Hi

I was previously printing a 'date taken' stamp on my photos.

After returning to using QU after a quite a few months, this feature does not seem to be working.

Instead, the info stamp feature only allows the 'image date' to be stamped, which is now showing as the date the images were transferred to the computer.

This is occurring on photos that previously printed the 'date taken' stamp, but now will only show the 'image date' stamp.

FYI, I am using v2014.248 (and not the most current update).

Is there any way I can fix this issue, so I can stamp the photos with the date they were taken?

Many thanks
Jeremy

Image Date and Date Taken are equivalent.  If you select "Image Date", it will stamp the image with the date the shot was taken based on EXIF data in that file.  If it is showing the file (modified) date, it means that the EXIF information has been stripped or corrupted and there is no longer an EXIF date-taken attribute in the file header.  At that time, it resorts to file date.

Thanks for the information Mike.

The only thing that puzzles me is that when I click on the images in Windows they still show the correct date that the image was taken, rather than the date it was modified.

Sorry if these seem like simple questions, but my knowledge of how EXIF data works is limited.

Cheers

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread.  Was this problem resolved?  What's the solution?  I am noticing the same that the newer versions of QU now prints "ModifyDate" instead of "CreateDate" if I select to print EXIF details on the edge.  I don't recall which version this started to happen and I'm currently on the latest.

thanks,
Lewis

I cannot fault QU here. See attached screen shot of a 2009 image which I modified in QU today.
The Info stamp date and the Floating Text date/time are for when the image was taken.

EDIT. are you editing the image in another program which is modifying the EXIF date taken?

The older versions used to print the date taken time stamp properly.  I have loaded up some old files I printed years back with the proper time stamp and now showing the modify date.  It seem that the date taken tag is not used in the newer version - see attached screen shots.  I also noticed that the file properties "date created" and "date modified" are the same as they should be since the image was converted from raw and saved as jpg after pp.

v2016.134 should fix this.  I discovered that QU wasn't picking up the original date/time when images have been modified by other software if that software changes the EXIF date/time upon modification.
