Hi Fred, please read Mike's post one above my morning's post. Qimage does not delete files, I do after conversion. I will try to find copies so as to enable me to send them to Mike if coversion fails.

Hi gents, I have located copies of the problem files. Have re-installed an earlier version of Windows, [from True Image] loaded QImage only to receive the ‘out of range’ message. If you forward me DDI’s postal address I will willingly forward you the files and associated screenshots. The total package comes to approx. 2.75gb, or, if you ‘talk’ me through it [I’m 80 years old] will if possible ‘e’ mail them.

Ok, I will try to help.  Let's do WE TRANSFER.  It is a free file transfer on line program that allows 2 GB free per use.
  https://wetransfer.com/

You will see a similar screen as they change the welcome screen all the time. Naturally, they want you to buy their not free service of larger files and faster up loads.... Ignore that.
Click around on the left side area until you see this: It will pop up for you. Then add the files where it tells you, and add my email or mike's  in the Email to box, and your email below that.Click TRANSFER.  That's it.
I'm sure Mike doesn't need 2.75 gigs of samples, just two or three bad ones would be fine.
My email address is in the screen snap, and Mike is mchaney@ddisoftware.com
Hint~ Mike gets tons of emails per day. Send it to me or both and it will be faster.
I'm here if you need a touch more help.
Fred
PS He told me to do this because we are from a different generation   I'll be 88 soon.

Wow,
I do remember Windows 3.0 followed quickly by a repaired 3.1 on disk. Windows was a manual menu selection on my DOS machine.
I even had 5 1/4 inch floppies, the big flat ones.
OK on the tifs to Mike. He will know in 5 minutes after checking.

Sir, any chance you would let me know your name? It;s a bit awkward to exchange posts with no name.
I'm sure that Mike will reply later this morning. I am an early riser. He is normal.

Thanks for the TIFFs.  I tried them and had no problem: they process and print without issue.  I did notice one thing in the screen shots you included.  Before you get that range check error, you get two other errors: unable to find q.bmp and sRGB.icm.  Those errors are an indication that your Qimage installation is corrupted or incomplete.  Please try reinstalling Qimage Ultimate and it should fix the issue: no need to uninstall first, just run the installer again.

Mike

Fred also reminded me how intrusive his AVG antivirus has become, so if you have problems after (another) reinstall, I'd put my bet on antivirus interference.  Sometimes AV software can prevent software from accessing some files.  The solution is to enter an exception for QU in the antivirus software... but I don't know if you want to get into that.

Hi Mike
Many thanks for your prompt replies. I have indeed re-installed Qimage [reply 7] and have had no further problems.  I mentioned in my ‘e’ mail this morning Mike I did suspect that the problem lay with my system, I use Kaspersky as anti virus etc. Anyways alls well that ends well. Mike have a merry Christmas and peaceful New Year.
Stay safe,
Trevor.
