Just downloaded qu16-124.exe and on running it Panda Antivirus Pro threw up a virus warning and quarantined the file.  Trusting it to be clean I recovered the file from quarantine and installed without further problem, but when I ran QU after installation I got a message box stating the my registration was incomplete, prompting me to enter my email address. After entering this my registration was acknowledged and QU then continued happily as before.  I didn't have any such problem with my last installation (qu16-117.exe) and am just curious?

If you upload qu16-124.exe to virustotal.com and scan it, you'll see that it gets 0/56 hits: clean by all AV tools.  Your Panda AV is on the list and reports it as clean.  Even if you install it and test the installed qimage.exe, that is also reported clean by all AV tools.  It's possible that your Panda AV needs an update but if you still get the warning, it's probably time to report it to Panda as a false positive.

Thanks Mike - I didn't doubt the file was clean but was curious as to why I was asked to enter my registration email when I ran it after recovering from the AV quarantine.
My Panda AV signature file was up to date so I reported the false positive to Panda.  The have just informed me that they have fixed it and that the detection will not occur in future.

OK.  Sounds good.  It's possible that Panda deleted some registry entries associated with Qimage Ultimate if it thought it was a virus.  That's probably how you lost the registration because that's stored in the Windows registry.
