The Edit window has become rather temperamental. Often, it will only display white space. If I click on the white space, the image will appear momentarily. The image is there, in that a right click will give me a preview window with a section of the image in it. I'm using version 2014.135

Hi Anthony,
Try disabling your monitor profile ... see snap attached.   Click on the little Blue Ball next to Montr icc, top one in the column.
Uncheck Mon Profile enable.

Let's see what happens.
Latest Video driver installed?

Additional information:
Type and size of file. (RAW, TIF, JPG)

Did you enter the editor by double clicking the thumb, or going into the queue first?

Clever, Fred! Disabling the profile works. This time, I'm going in via Batch Edit from the queue but, as I recollect, it has also happened when double clicking the thumb. I noticed it two or three updates ago.

Shouldn't make any difference. I was just trying to gather as much repeatable steps so I could make it happen.
Still need to know what type of file and the size.

What kind of Monitor profile? Home made ?
If it came with the monitor, then substitute the standard sRGB which you can find in the usual place... Click that Browse button to the right of that box in the screen snap in the previous post.

Video Driver up to date?

Files are jpg, 3648 x 2432, around 3MB. Monitor profile is C:\Windows\system32\spool\drivers\color\SMP2450H.icm, which appears to be Samsung Natural Color Pro 1.0 ICM. Substituting the sRGB profile makes no difference. But disabling the profile does. I'm updating the video driver as I write. If you don't hear from me again, it will because I ignored my golden rule of "If it works, don't fix it" and the whole system fell to bits  Shocked

Well Fred, you well deserve your super-hero status! The video update has cured the problem. I'm very grateful.

Thanks for the kudos, but you get half the credit for explaining the problem so well.
