What sort of plug-ins get used in the editor in the Auto-correct group? And why might you want to override the ICC profile at that point?
I am going to try to answer but you have me really smiling.
Way back. Way back, in the 1998s and 99s, Always striving for better and more accurate color, Mike would make PLUG INS for my camera which worked like a personal camera profile. I bought one.
I cannot remember how he made them, but my color improved a lot.
Have to wait for Mike. My memory is not that sharp.
Override the Icc is there, in case.... in case you want to reset the working color space. Some of this stuff is used only under peculiar circumstances. Let's say you get an image from a friend, a TIF perhaps, which was shot in Mongolia with a borrowed camer from a monk. It was saved in an undecipherable color space. You want to start working on it in a reasonably comfortable color space. So you insert the Override. Maybe Adobe RGB, maybe you can even find the matching profile for that camera? Anyway you can reset that.

Best I can remember.
Also, remember that the ICC override becomes a filter like you added sharpening or contrast. It did not change the image.
