This was covered in another thread.  Different drivers have different requirements for top and bottom margins.  The bottom non-printable margin on your printer is larger than the top margin.  In addition, Qimage adds about 6mm of slack to the bottom margin because some drivers don't respond well to cutting the bottom margin right at the driver minimum.  So your bottom margin will always be a few millimeters longer to protect your print from being cut too close or pieces being cut off.  Better to use those few millimeters to make sure you get a good print than risk wasting the entire length of the print and possibly get a bad print.

Mike

Yes, it's better to not cutting the photo itself.

One thing I have notice is:
1. Auto Roll is OFF
2. Optimal print placement
3. CTRL+W
I'm getting 6.3mm at the bottom instead of 11.3mm.
So, my question is- why the different margins?

p.s.
can you point me to the other thread?
Thank you!

Auto roll length is just that: automatic.  It is working with the driver and other features to ensure you get consistent layouts while adjusting roll length.  The "Trim White Space" (Ctrl-W) feature simply cuts the page at the minimum length, assuming you are ready to print.  That trim feature (Ctrl-W) does not take into account that you may want to do more with that job in the future so if you use Ctrl-W to trim white space and then change a setting like go into the driver and change paper type or quality, or even just turn the page landscape and then back to portrait, when Qimage re-paginates the job, it may arrange prints differently and create a second page.  This is because the Trim White Space feature is not working with the pagination routines to determine the actual needed length and print arrangements so it doesn't need that tiny amount of trailing slack.

Long story short: if you are worried about losing ~5mm of roll in a job, just click Ctrl-W right before you print.  Honestly, it'd take printing five separate jobs to even gain back 1 inch of roll paper, so I wouldn't worry about it.

P.S.  The other thread is the 2019.113 announcement message: sticky at the top of this forum.
