Newbie here!
 Printing with a Epson 7900 and finally set up Qimage to print a couple of canvas wraps.

I think I did well,printed 2-11x14s with mirror borders  of the grandkids last Christmas, to display as samples for promoting in my store. I have the driver set for allowing Qimage to take charge of the printing but did have the print preview box checked.
When I went to print the preview dialoge box appeared and the images there looked awful.
I had a feeling I had done something wrong but went ahead and printed anyway.The prints came out fine, the color was just slightly off my calibrated NEC PA241W monitor.
Why did the images on the preview look so bad?

The driver print preview always looks terrible with colour managed printing, it's nothing to worry about.

I had a feeling that was the case since the program has taken control of color management .That's why I went ahead and printed anyway Wink
I guess there is no need to even open a preview page in the driver when using a color managed program,but use soft proofing in the program instead.

I find the print preview useful as a final check on things like position, borders etc. before committing ink to paper. Soft proofing is far from perfect too, it so depends on the accuracy of profiles because 2, monitor and printer, are having to be used. An actual print is by far the best check and QU does have a test strip feature.
