I guess there is no need to even open a preview page in the driver when using a color managed program,but use soft proofing in the program instead.
I find the print preview useful as a final check on things like position, borders etc. before committing ink to paper. Soft proofing is far from perfect too, it so depends on the accuracy of profiles because 2, monitor and printer, are having to be used. An actual print is by far the best check and QU does have a test strip feature.
