When using Print to File, the files are save to a specific folder of your choose.  I save this to recall later. i.e.  job - 4x6.  this will batch print all photos to 4x6 image to the a folder called 4x6.  The problem is, every time I choose this job it always ask what folder to print to. I just want it to print the photo to the same folder I saved it to. i.e. 4x6

What am I doing wrong?

You aren't doing anything wrong, just have to find the routine that will suit your need.

Two ways:
1)  Use the lower dot in the dialogue box in the Print to File choice box. Then select your location and it will come back to it every time.

2) Use the upper dot which will default to a sub folder called Q and you can RENAME it.

I like number one solution best.

I was choosing 2), which makes you choose a folder every time but it retains the file name.  Solution 1), which I also find to be the best solution, will bring back the folder every time except it is does not retain the file name.

Is there a way to have solution 1) and still retain the file name?

Thank you for the reply

You know what? The more I play with that thing, the more I think that check box is not working; the one that says remember output folder.
if that worked, we could have 1) and 2) together.

I thought it was a bug myself. When I save settings for the  "upper dot", it saves the folder I want to print to but it does not work.

I used Qimage many  years ago and it use to work. ie retain name and specific folder. This is the main reason I purchased it again.
Maybe the developers can look into this.
Thank you

The problem here is that the top option (allow auto naming) doesn't support that "remember folder" option.  When you choose auto naming (top dot), you are letting QU pick both the folder and file names and it defaults to the current folder (where thumbs are being displayed).  So technically, the problem is that the remember checkbox belongs under the bottom (user naming) option because it doesn't apply to the top.  I'm going to make a couple changes there so it works more logically in the next version.
