Printer not printing images
«

Following an update from windows, I became aware of some irregularities namely; both the printer waiting icon and the Adobe Bridge icons disappeared from the taskbar. And the printer refused to print images passed from Qimage. Qimage did alert me to the problem and I reset the Printer settings as instructed by Qimage.
I suspect the culprit is the windows update. Curious to know whether anybody else has had this problem and if so how to avoid this happening in the future,
In the interim, I reverted to Photoshop to complete my printing run. As a side, did notice that printing with photoshop was much quicker than with Qimage. Is there a setting in Qimage that controls the print speed?

Photoshop and Qimage are using the same driver so if Photoshop can print, Qimage will print. You said you reset printer settings in Qimage but you didn't say if that fixed the problem.
Photoshop will likely print a little faster because it really isn't doing any "printing". Photoshop just dumps the raw image to the driver and lets the driver handle it with no interpolation, no sharpening, no tiling, etc. Even with all that Qimage does, it's only going to be a little slower and on some systems can still even be faster because it is multithreaded and uses multiple cores to print.
Qimage's AI will also automatically pick the highest print quality in the driver (which will print slower) and Photoshop may not. Not really worth saving a few seconds in most cases to end up with worse quality.
Regards,
Mike
