I recently upgraded from Professional 2010.210 to Ultimate 2014.128 on a Win 8 x64 machine to use with a Canon ipf6400.  When I open Ultimate, I get this message.

"The driver for the selected printer in Qimage has been updated.  Since the Qimage saved printer settings may not be valid for the new driver configuration, printer driver settings will revert to Windows Defaults when Qimage starts.

Please also note that any saved printer setups for this printer should be rebuilt from Scratch..."

The last ipf driver update was several months ago.  Not wanting to take the time to rebuild a couple dozen setup files, I'm still using Professional for printing.  Is there a quick fix, or do I really need to rebuild the settings?

Thanks

Hi Ed,
I think you get that message (as I do once in a while) when you have old 2010.210 and new Ultimate on the same machine.
I keep that too mainly so I can help someone once in a hile with a Studio problem.
Nevertheless, when I close Studio, Qimage saves the printer that was shown on the screen.
When I open Ultimate, it warns me to beware!!  Might not be the same printer you think because it was saved by Studio.

Simply reset the correct printer in the Printer setup in Q Ultimate and it will remember that.
*** Here's the trick I use to beat the issue when I open Studio.
When I go to close/get out of Studio, I close it using FILE and EXIT WITHOUT SAVING SETTINGS.
See screen snap.
That should fix it.
Get used to Ultimate and you will never go back to Studio.

Thanks Fred,  I'll follow your instructions until I'm comfortable with Ultimate, then uninstall 2010.210.

Following the exit procedure above, I normally hit the "X" at the top-right. When I open Ultimate again, I get the message that it was shut down wrong and how do I want to open. I hit "normal." What is the proper procedure? Thanks.

Regards, Paul.

Hi Paul,
First you should try a reinstall (no need to uninstall) over the top.
Turn off the antivirus program for 5 minutes while you download and install.
That should take care of it.
