I'm printing on 10" paper and the first print is always the wrong size.  If it's a 8x10 or 5x7's ?

Hi Johnny,
There's most likely an easy answer, but we need some better information from you.
What size paper? Is it 8.5 x 11, or 10" x what?
What size paper did you select in the driver.
What kind of printer?
What size prints? What version Qimage?
What kind of camera?

10" roll paper, I have Ultimate, I have an Epson 7880 and choose 10x70 for printing.  I use Nikon camera and can't see what that has to do with this.

If the paper is 10 inches wide, you will need to select borderless printing to get a print 10 inches wide. The actual normal printable width is shown on the page layout area on rhs, towards the top. The reduced printing area is nothing to do with qimage, but the mechanics of the printer/paper handling.

hth.

Best wishes,

The camera produces an aspect ratio (size) to the image.
Since you didn't provide any information, I didn't know where we were going with the "small size" print. I wanted to make sure I had enough information to look at crops or driver scaling.
Set the paper size to 10.02, and as Ray said, borderless, and the 8 x 10 will fit 10" into the 10" roll.

See snap.

All images are sized 8x10 before taking into Qimage.  It happens at the start of the printing.  It can be wallets, or any size.  I print 8x10 5x7 , 4x6 and 2x3.  It happens no matter what size is first.  I have 1 1/2 to 2 inches of unprinted paper.  The sides are ok

That is only a "tag", an image does not really have "inches", only pixels and is meaningless until printed!
The best way when using Qimage is to specify the size there in inches and forget any virtual sizing tagged by another program.

So how are you specifying the size in Qimage?
If you want to use an embedded size then you need to use Custom, Use embedded Size and make sure the PPI override is not ticked.
You can check what size Qimage is sending to the printer by looking at the Queue information, click the Print Queue tab, all the data is there.

I hope you've watched the learning video Fred mentioned; that video mentions a fact that sizing can be tricky when borderless is set due to the expansion the driver applies with that setting. That can make the print bigger after it leaves Qimage.

What exactly does this mean? Do you mean the image is not completely printed or .... Huh?
Several of us still do not fully understand your problem yet very willing to help when supplied with all the information. A few screen shots of you Qimage and driver settings can often be useful.

I had it in boarderless printing mode.  Could it have expanded all the prints and "pushed" up the first one?  I have been having to trim the 5x7's.

If you are having to trim then the borderless setting has probably expanded the size. I think it's really designed for printing sheets. However, it is possible to turn off the expansion in Qimage, see attached screen shot for menu item.
I don't know about pushing up the first one, do you mean moving it on the page?
Can you put some images in the queue and tell us what size Qimage says it's sending to the driver, see second screen shot, metric units equivalent to 7x5 and a 10x8, but you'll get the idea. If the driver is expanding the print, Qimage does not show that. Best  thing is to turn off the expansion.
Also, I strongly recommend you set your inch sizes in Qimage with the crop scissors on.

Can we have a screen snap of the print queue?

We are relieved to hear it  Wink You'll get to enjoy using Qimage Ultimate and the superb quality of prints that it produces.  Cheesy
Just one comment to add to those already made on using QU when you've prepared an image in PS. Never re-size (interpolate) in PS. QU has far superior algorithms to PS and using PS for this will reduce the quality.
Any more problems, ask again but give plenty of detail.

That's easy  Roll Eyes
On the status bar at the top of the main screen, just to the right of the "Help", there'll be a small message with the new version quoted. Click on that, the splash logo will pop up and then click on th elink to update. You'll very quickly get an e-mail with a link, user name and password to download the new version. It'll be sent to your registered e-mail address; if it does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder.
Happy printing!
Terry.

Hi Johnny,
I think you posted on the wrong thread.

When I do this it says the latest version is still 2010 and see that the latest should be 2011.  Also when I click I get a no  page found.

This must be because you are using Qimage Pro or Studio Edition. These versions are now retired and you need to purchase Qimage Ultimate to get all the latest improvements.
See http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/ and http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage-u/purchase.htm
