I've just installed an Epson P900 using Windows 10.  I've had problems printing directly from Qimage Ultimate with the latest version. I am not using a plug-in, and  the printer is connect by an Ethernet cable.  After working for a day the next day after Qimage sent output to the P900, the printer just kept saying receiving data, but no print.  I was able to print with no problem using different programs such as Power Point.  I reinstalled the Epson drivers and the printer is now printing images from Qimage.  I am wondering if anyone else had had this problem, and how did you deal with it?

When printers misbehave, there's always a two step process to try.

First, hold the Shift key while you click on the Properties button on the Printers and Settings tab.  When you open the driver this way (with the Shift key held), Qimage opens the driver with a fresh set of default settings, ignoring any prior saved settings.  Once you are in the driver, make the settings changes you need to make and click "OK" to close the driver.  Then try to print a simple job.  If that works, it means something got corrupted in the printer settings and resetting them fixed it.

If the first step doesn't work, the second step is to (re)download the printer driver from Epson and reinstall it.

Now, if neither of these two steps fix the problem, there is also a diagnostic you can run: check the "Print Preview" option in the driver so the driver will show you a preview of the page before the printer starts printing.  See if the print preview comes up.  If that comes up and the page looks as you expect on the preview but the printer won't print, the problem is with the printer or its connection to the PC; the driver should be able to print what is shown on the preview and at that point, we are outside the realm of Qimage.

Mike

Thanks so much for you feedback. The printer was originally working but then the next day when I used Qimage it seemed to work fine but the printer didn't print. I did reinstall the Epson driver and the printer is now working with Qimage. I am just concerned that I will have the problem again.

One addition question:  I notice in windows settings I have the choice of using either winprint as the print processor or Epson SC-P900 series.  Do you have a recommendation?

It should be set to Epson SC-P900 Series.  That should be the default.

Mike, I suggested the Man come to this Forum with his issue-- knowing that you would have the best (if not the only) answer.

My Regards,
