I just dl and installed the demo. W7pro64 system.  The interface came up for about 45 seconds while I was looking at the quick start guide, then crashed "this program has stopped responding windows is looking for a solution".  I rebooted; still a no go.  Suggestions please.

Suggestions please
Over aggressive anti virus programs can sometimes cause problems.
Try installing with AV temporarily disabled and/or put the Qimage program folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Qimage-U
and the program data folder C:\ProgramData\ddisoftware\Qimage
in the exception list of the AV program.
QU certainly works with W7-64.

Another thing to check is which printer is noted as the default printer.
Go to printers and Devices found in the Start button menu.
Make a printer that you are sure the driver is firm (stay off of network printer for the time being) into the Default printer.
Then try to open Qimage.

Thanks, got it working by reading the readme.txt and opening in proposed "safe" mode (shift+click), clicked default in printer properties.  Got another question but will post it in appropriate printer section, please look for it and respond...really liking this so far.
