Title: QI Ultimate 2020 vs 2019
Post by: RickL on December 22, 2019, 10:11:14 PM
I reregistered for 2020 and downloaded it to a new laptop. After installing, I am encountering some major differences:
1) Media Type list no longer has full list of Epson Specialty papers as it did in 2019. I can't see any way to add them
2) No way to set custom paper sizes, an absolute must for me
Is this a driver issue?

Yes. It sounds as if you do not have the latest/correct printer driver installed on your new laptop. There have been no QU changes that would be related to this.

Mel has it right.  I can confirm that there have been no changes that would affect those parameters in the 2019 or 2020 versions.  It has to be the driver.  Maybe a Windows update deleted the driver and Windows installed some generic driver (not the latest from the manufacturer).  That happens sometimes.  If Bill Gates did pull a "ghost of Christmas past" on your driver, the fix is to go directly to the Epson website, download the latest driver for your printer, and install that.  ;)

Mike

One other thing worth mentioning - but you probably know this - to get all of your personal settings, such as printer setups, print sizes, jobs, sessions, albums - in other words any settings that you have made in Qimage itself, you need to copy the folder _Qimage Settings from your old computer to the new one.

Hi--where is the folder _Qimage Settings stored? I would like to back it up.

Thanks.

Liz

If you click Utilities, Explore Qimage Application Data while in QU, it'll open the folder where all the QU saved files and subfolders are stored.  Or you could use the "Utilities", "Migrate..." option to let QU make a backup or move the data.
