Title: Qimage and jpeg artifacts - reduce jaggies
Post by: Ozypom65 on October 24, 2012, 01:06:56 AM
I have just purchased Qimage Ultimate for work / Is there a way to use QiU to reduce jpeg artifacts (reduce jaggies) in a file without having to go to print?

Thanks in advance

"Print to file" is what you want, I believe. Read the help and examples, and come back if you have any questions. Fred and Terry can answer the hard questions.

It would be helpful to have a little more information about these images:
Are the jaggies caused by being a low resolution (pixel size) and what is their pixel size?
Are the artefacts caused by high compression of the jpeg's?

If you want to increase the resolution of the images then what Jeff suggested is one way but there are other ways such as "convert" the images or Create E-mail copies which can be used to upsize as well as downsize.
All these methods use Qimage's leading world class interpolation algorithms to a the best possible result.

Artefacts caused by excessive jpeg compression are more difficult to deal with but one of the noise reduction methods in the image editor may help.
