Thank you for another good instructive video.

Just back from visit to Spain, many difficult shots to process.
The light was VERY strong, mostly impossible to get highlights and shadows, I mainly sacrificed the shadows

Will be updating my Qimage and looking forward to what I can do with the two odr boxes.

Hi Jeff,

I took a load of photos on Saturday which included black & white water birds, swan, Canada Geese and Coots so the contrast was extremely high.
V118 coped very well.
First the highlight recovery magenta box works very well; it is now a little different from v117 and by checking with the shift key you can focus down on the brightest area of an image, even a to box a few pixels in size.
I've also found, although not specifically for v118, using the red box (camera black point) can relieve black areas and get a little more detail - check rgb values with mouse RH button. It may cause too much contrast to be lost but worth a try sometimes. However ODR will often help to recover that. The other option with a magenta box is to have an ODR box on a very dark area - experiment!
The HDR slider in v118 work very nicely and seems pretty foolproof.
I recommend you watch and listen to the video more than once to understand how DODR works and be prepared to experiment with images so next time you can do the job more quickly.

That's my take on V118 so far, you may have taken to it straight away, but for others I hope my comments are helpful. I have now processed over 150 images with v118!

He forgot to mention that he neglected to remove the lens cap for most of the 159.

No worries, D-ODR can see through that  :o

Now theres a thing, I never thought of that.  You could do a video on how to remove the black thing on front of lens.

However, I have a couple of problems with V118

No. 01   -   Flash card copy move, takes a long time to find the images on card, get message "Parsing all Folders on the source drive" after about 10minutes it finds them.
No. 02   -   If I use the white balance button to select a grey area on image the image turns red.   Select the AWB and image reverts to normal.

I 'manually' loaded the images to get over No. 01 then ran in to the 02 problem.

Used system restore to before V118  and all works normally.

Re down loaded V118 installed and get the same problem.

Quick check all other functions appear ok

Any Ideas chaps?

Never mind Jeff,
I dug out some of your old ORFs and they turn red when White Balance is used.
I pass it on to Mike when he wakes up.

I can confirm that.

The first time I used 118, the parsing thing happened but after that it was ok., Just a quick message saying "checking folders".

Hello both

Just checked flash card c & m and now loads immediately.

Thanks for checking the Oly orf files.

Everything else seems ok so can manage without that function, but look forward to the correction.
