Title: Qimage Ultimate crashes
Post by: raloran on June 05, 2018, 09:00:36 AM
Hi all,
I've been running Qimage successfully since 2006 without any major glitches. Thank you for the great work you do Mike!

But since 2018.116 and now .117 I cannot finish one print job without Qimage crashing. I'm on a Windows10 machine with an Epson Stylus Pro 4800, a real workhorse. The Epson driver was updated to its recent one 6.62 in 2016 so can be ruled out.

I get various screen popüps from Qimage ranging from "Invalid printer" to "Unable to insert a line". Windows tells me on restart that there was an error "15-run" but even if I start in Safe mode it crashes. Funny thing is, every once in awhile the unclog can be printed with out prior crashes...

Any experiences with this behavior?

Kind regards, Ralph from Cologne, Germany

Ralph,
Good Day.
The second line above is usually tell-tale. "Invalid Printer". Many reports of this all due to a W 10 update install.
Mike will see your post later today and will probably have a better reply, but in the meantime, please look again for an updated driver and reinstall.
This is what is listed for 6.62
Driver File name: epson375527eu.exe, Released: 03 December 2012, Version: 6.62

    Epson Pro 4800 x64 Driver – Download (35.40MB)

Maybe you have a European Epson driver that is better for W 10
Regardless, reinstall whatever you can get. It should re-establish itself.

Hopefully,
Fred

Hi Fred,
re-downloading and re-installation of the driver really helped.

No more crashes for now!

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes, Ralph
