OK, Mike I looked in the control panel. Yes scaling is on - but when I turn it off it keeps on reverting back to aspect ratio done by gpu. So I can't turn this off. I will contact NVIDIA but it will take some time. It is working again! QU now shows my screen rez for the main monitor....

This is not a Qimage Ultimate issue.  Your best bet is (as you said above) to contact Nvidia and ask them why your main monitor is showing 3840x2160 sometimes and at other times it's showing 1920x1080.  Sounds to me like they have a bug in that scaling option.  But there's nothing I can do from my end to fix a broken system.  You really need to find/fix the issue with the monitor res scaling.

Mike

Can't thank you enough for hearing me....

My question may reveal my ignorance of colour management ;-)
For over 10 years now I've been using Qimage Ultimate (& Qimage before it) successfully with custom Epson and Hahnemühle profiles from Andrew Rodney's Digital Dog. Great results, thanks!
I am preparing to upgrade my desktop computer from Windows 7 64 bit Pro to Windows 10 Pro. Will I need to obtain new paper profiles?
Thanks.

Hi Bill,
I recall that the 64 bit driver is the same for W7 and W10. I looked it up and Version 6.62 is the download for either as long as they are both 64 bit Operating Systems.

Ah yes, the driver is the critical element - thanks, Fred!

I'm about to upgrade to a new desktop PC (Windows 10) & wonder what you might recommend for video cards for Qimage Ultimate? (I also use QuarkXPress, 2020, CS5 Standard Design, and FontExplorerX Pro.) Any tips appreciated - thanks!

Qimage doesn't use video card calls directly so the video card is not really important for Qimage; what is important is that you have the latest driver.  A video card would be more important for things like video editing, gaming, etc.
