Hi,
When I print from QI, after the print, QI shuts down. When I restart it I get a  massage that QI was not shut down property last session. I have not changed any setting. Running 2016.113.

Thank you
Herbert

Same here, I don't think I'm doing anything differently. Running 113.
Same error message.

Hi Herbert,
Two things come to mind right away.
Is Qimage saving to the printer ini file on closing?
1) Exit without saving or having moved the location where it is getting saved?
2) The saved ini file got hiccuped somehow?

OK So let's do this.
Click Help in Qimage. Select ANALYZE CURRENT SETTINGS
Any pertinent messages?

OK Next.
Click HELP again and this time select RESET PRINTER SETTINGS and SAY YES

Recheck the driver settings when you set up a print and do it manually, set paper, quality, color management, No Color Management, etc.
Make a print. Close Qimage.  Check the time...
Open See  screen snap path ....
See second screen snap and check the file time.
It should show fresh and new saved as printer ini and the regular ini.

Do not use any presaved printer setups until we fix this.

I often have the same problem Herb, when Qimage asks me If I want a normal restart as Q was not shut down properly..
I usually find I had 2 copies of Qimage running at the same time whaen I am trying recreate something to help...
Any chance there's second Qimage running?

Hi John...
Cheeze... I haven't printed in a few days (been  fighting with germs), so I decided I better do a double unclog.
That means I print half a page of unclog using the saved Matte paper setting and the other half using the Gloss setting.
Closed Q and it all was fine.
OK But Q does go back to where it was before Unclog. I better do a good check since I read  Herb's message.
So I whipped up a real print 8 x 10, of my neighbor's grand daughter... (It already has a home across the street)
I closed Q and reopened... all is well...

Beenj fartzing arond with Rani's Epson's 9600 roll paper screens, and Q came back open remembering that  for a while. I kept it in case Rani need me to try something else.

Unless you have some step I don't do, or some setting?Huh?? I cannot repeat it.

I had a couple emails from people who had problems while printing.  We were able to solve the problems by using "Help", "Reset Printer Settings" in QU and then making sure not to load any pre-saved setups or jobs afterward: set the driver up manually.  It appears that some drivers are no longer compatible with their old settings (from previous driver versions) and that could be causing a problem.  Resetting the printer settings and setting up the driver from scratch may solve that.

I also discovered that there could be a problem if you have very long printer names (sometimes printers on a network may have long names) so please let me know if that may be the case on your system because I've already solved that for the next release.  If you have a printer that shows something like "Epson Stylus Photo R3000 on \\Marys Computer\Epson..." and your printer has a long name like that example, there's a fix coming for that.

Other than those two areas (if those don't apply), please let me know what model printer you are using, what sheet size you are using, and what size print(s) you are printing, along with when the unexpected closing of the software occurs (after printing, during printing, etc.)  It's often helpful to post a screen shot of the main window to show your settings: that will tell me most of the above.  Also please let me know how many cores QU shows on it's splash screen when you first start QU!

Thanks,
Mike

I found the problem and corrected it in 2016.114.

Hi,
Thank you for your help.

I have never had a program updated as much as QIU or belonged to a user site with so many friendly people willing to help you with anything. Keep up the good work.

Thank you

Herbert
