Title: QU File size limit (Tiff)
Post by: msoomro on December 21, 2013, 12:03:04 AM
Is there a file size limit that QU can read?  I work extensively with layers and often the tiffs exceed 2 GB or even 3 in some cases.  My experience so far with QU is that any file over 2 GB is not readable. Is this a known limitation? or I am doing something weird.

Thanks

It has more to do with the computer's memory allocation for Qimage.
Go to Help and hold the Shift key down while clicking Analyze Current settings.
What numbers are coming up?

Fred

What is bloating the file so much. Even layers doesn't do that.  Are you upsampling for some reason?

HI there
That exactly what i want to know.I have tried to read some tiff files exceed 4GB using a TIFF reader (http://www.rasteredge.com/how-to/csharp-imaging/tiff-reading/).But it said that there is a file size limit.
So i want to get a powerful tiff program (http://www.rasteredge.com/how-to/csharp-imaging/tiff-processing/) which supports to read any size of images. Is that possible?
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
