Hopefully someone can work this one out for me. I process my NEFs in ACR but when I go into Ultimate they look really bad with very muddy colours and blown highlight areas. I feel they are being processed again with Qimage's RAW processor as my jpgs are fine. Things were fine until a couple of days ago, I could print directly from the RAW image but I've been playing around and obviously set something somewhere to cause this change. I've done a lot more playing around since to try and figure it out, but with no joy what so ever. Paddy Title: Re: RAW files being double processed?? When you process first in ACR, the adjustments you made are recognized by ACR only. So what you see in Qimage when looking at the NEFs, is the un-altered raw files. The same would happen in reverse. If you process the images in Qimage Ultimate, REFINE, and sent that into CS5 or Lightroom, they wouldn't see the adjustments that Qimage Ultimate made. If you find that you want to continue to use that routine, you need to convert your NEF + xmp file to a Tif. Fred Title: Re: RAW files being double processed?? It's probably age catching up with me, what you are saying certainly makes sense , and it's no big deal to save as a tiff. Even though I used the studio version before I'm still feeling my way around the prog and I'm very impressed this time as I'm spending more time learning it. Since you are feeling your way around Ultimate, let us hope you will give Ultimate a chance to convince you that it can process your Nefs in wonderful fashion, and you can print from the NEFs. Of course, you have loads of help here as well as Learning videos on the web page to lead you into Ultimate. Fred |
