Title: Re-order pages in print queue
Post by: aaturner on April 29, 2011, 09:44:22 AM
Hi all. I have used Qimage Studio for some years now, and have just migrated to QUltimate. My question is:
Having produced a photobook (20 pages) in Ultimate I would like to re-order some of the completed layout pages or insert new ones somewhere in the middle of the queue - not at the end. I have searched the forum and failed to find any obvious explanation, so I wonder if it is possible to do this. Also, although I can rotate images in 90 degree increments, is it possible to rotate them only partially?
For guidance I am printing double-sided on an Epson R3880.
Many thanks.

Hi,
Let's take the second question first.
Yes you can rotate your image in the Image Editor. There's a text box where you can type in a + angle or a - angle in degrees.
Click Apply.

On the adding a page in between existing pages, put the page into the queue.
Open the "book" in the Full Page Editor. Locate the newly added page (probably at the end). Right click and select Cut to Clipboard.
Now, still in the Full Page Editor, arrow back to the place where you want to insert the page.
Right click on the page before the spot or after the spot, and select PASTE Before, or Paste after.

That should work.

Some advice when making "books".
Save each page as a separate Session and then you can edit each page and print them in any order you like. To print the complete book Append each page session in the order you require.
You could save your current set of pages as a session, recall and delete all but one page, save as a single page session and do this for each page. That is another way to edit what you have but a little tedious. Best to start with separate page session in the first place - next time!

On the adding a page in between existing pages
Following up on Fred's comments, you can insert a page from the right click menu on the page preview (main screen); that inserts a page before the one visible.
If you set that new page to freehand mode, you can drag thumbs to that page and they'll stick there, just arrange them accurately in the Page Editor.
NB. Using cut to clipboard and paste before/after in the Editor works for one image at a time.
There are several way to do what you want  8)

Gentlemen, thank you all for your knowledge and advice. It has solved a problem that has been niggling me for a while. One page per session will happen next time! It's amazing what Qimage does when you dig below the surface, assisted by the video gallery and those more knowledgeable than me. ::)
Thanks again.
