That is by design so you dont fill that folder with thousands of emailed images.
You can use a named folder, or create a folder for each size if you want to stay with Make Email Web copies.
Or you can use CONVERT IMAGES from the Right Mouse menu and either create a folder, or leave it blank, and all will be saved in your current folder; nothing erased.
You can do this simply by ticking the ADD TO dot and when the quick edit box opens, simply change one side.
Example, just type 1024 x    and the other box will self adjust.
Exchange the ones in the queue for other images, and this time type in 800 x

One more idea.
You can use Flash Card Copy Move, ans in SETTINGS, set youe Make WEB COPY to 1024 x 768, and let it run. You can name your folder in there.
Then set the web size to 800 x 600 and name a different folder, and let it run.
The down side is that it will do the folder not selected images.
You can weed out before or after...
Just another way to do it.

You keep shooting yourself in the foot.
Qimage is designed to do whatever you want.
Qimage Ultimate does not Nuke the previous email size copies unless you choose to have it set that way.

Place the images that you wish to downsize into the queue.
You can have as many or as few as you want.
Right click on the preview screen or around it, and select from the menu that drops, Make Email/Web sized copies.
A box opens that offers you the size choices, PLUS an empty box for destination.
Simply browse to a folder of your choice, or click the little yellow folder icon, and make a new folder to keep your downsized copies.
Qimage remembers this destination until you change it,
It will no longer delete and cause you to lose previous images.
